Bill Blackburn – age 78 of Sharps Chapel, went to Heaven on June 25, 2020. He was a member of Irwin’s Chapel Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by sons, Michael Keith and William Anthony Blackburn. Bill is survived by wife, Pat Blackburn; children, Brent and Wendy; seven grandchildren; and sisters, Margaret and Jane.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 27, 2020 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends will go in procession to Irwin’s Chapel Methodist Church in Sharps Chapel for a 4:00 p.m. funeral service with Reverend Gary Tye officiating. Interment will follow service in Graves-Ousley Cemetery. Trinity Funeral Home, LLC, Maynardville, has the honor to serve the family of Bill Blackburn.
Ralph Homer Shick was born on September 30, 1939; and was received in the arms of Jesus on November 28, 2023. Preceded in death by parents Ralph Hilton Shick and Gene Lucille Shick Mammolite. He was a veteran serving in the Army. He leaves behind his beloved wife Susan Shick, his son Marcus (Elizabeth) Shick, and grandchildren: Adam (Megan), and Samuel (Alex); great-grandchildren: Simon, Silas, and Sophie; and his half-brother Mike Mammolite.
He graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He moved to Sharps Chapel in 2008. Ralph and his beloved wife Sue are active members of Irwin’s Chapel UMC.
Ralph was a multi-talented man. He excelled at water skiing, performing semi-pro feats on the water. He was a talented singer and musician, taking great joy in playing his harmonica even very recently for the enjoyment of his fellow residents at Willow Ridge, and recorded a CD with his harmonica playing. He was also a gifted artist, his stained glass work is an intricate part of the sacred worship space at Irwin’s Chapel United Methodist and Chapel of the Good Shepherd Lutheran churches in Sharps Chapel, TN.
Sue is building a memorial garden for Ralph. She invites everyone to contribute by painting a rock however they want with maybe their favorite color a scripture or lyric or just their name to be placed in the garden.
Ralph’s memorial service is December 9th, at 1:00 pm with military honors provided by the Tri-County Honor Guard, and Kathy Chesney officiating at Irwin’s Chapel UMC, 358 Old Valley Road, Sharps Chapel, TN. 37866; with a reception to follow.
